Montgomery to equip school buses with cameras to catch drivers by 2014

Posted: Updated:

Beginning in 2014, drivers in Montgomery County may have one more thing keeping an eye on them on the roads.

Police officials there want to install cameras on school buses to catch drivers who illegally pass buses letting kids on and off.

The Washington Post reports the first 25 cameras are hoped to be installed by January 1st.

It is unclear when ticketing would start but fines would start at $125.

A public campaign is expected to begin in December to inform drivers of the cameras.
