Union activist Robert Davis has filed two emergency motions that could potentially delay Detroit's November election.

The first one accuses Detroit city clerk Janice Winfrey of making mistakes on the ballot, including missing numbers and special instructions on the sleeve.

"Janice Winfrey does not know her duties as the local clerk, and, as a result, the ballot as cast, under the guides of Michigan election law, may not be counted because they violate Michigan election law," Davis explains.

The second accuses mayoral candidate Mike Duggan of failing to file a new nominating petition and new affidavit of identity after winning the August primary.

The state Supreme Court will decide if it will agree to hear the cases. Its decision is expected to come by Monday.
