Elderly Woman Killed in Burbank House Fire

Posted: Updated:

(FOX/CNS) - Authorities today identified a woman killed in a house
fire in Burbank.

The fire was reported at about 9:20 p.m. Saturday at 910 N. Evergreen
St., according to Crystal Bartl of the Verdugo Fire Communications Center.

The flames were extinguished in about 20 minutes.

Irmhild Marcaccio, 69, who lived in the house, was fatally injured,
coroner's Assistant Chief Ed Winter said.

Firefighters arriving at the scene reported flames coming out of the
home's front door, and two people -- a man and a woman -- trying to enter the
residence, Verdugo Dispatch Deputy Fire Marshal George Martinez said.

Three people were in the house when the fire broke out, Bartl said.
Paramedics took the man and woman to a hospital for treatment of non-life-
threatening injuries, Martinez said.
