Chicago's speed cams start issuing tickets this week.
Two cameras on South Kedzie go live Monday. Two others in the McKinley Park area go online Friday.
For now tickets will only be issued to motorists going 10 miles or more over the speed limit but the threshold will be lowered.
Eventually, fines will be $35 for going six to 10 miles too fast and a $100 for anything faster than that.
Officials plan to add 50 cameras to areas around parks and schools across the city.
