Many believed a Federal Judge would overturn Michigan's ban on same sex marriage this week, but instead he thought a trial would be a better idea.  That will happen in February.  On this episode, the couple at the center of the lawsuit, April DeBoer and Jayne Rowse join us to talk about what this fight means for them personally.

Then, we have a preview of the upcoming trial with the couple's attorney, Dana Nessel.  She takes on Tracey Lee, an attorney for the American Family Association of Michigan.  That group co-authored the constitutional amendment that bans same sex marriage in the state.

And then for something completely different, as they'd say on Monty Python.  We have a debate over extending last call for bar hours in Michigan.  There's an effort in Lansing to push it back until 4 a.m. like in Chicago and New York City.  But would that be a good idea around here? Nico Gatzaros, the owner of the London Chophouse and Fishbones in Detroit says absolutely, yes.  He thinks it mean more money for the bars, the state, and even the police.  But Tyler MacEachran from Mothers Against Drunk Driving in Michigan thinks it would come at the cost of public safety.
