3 men arrested after Grosse Pointe 'Moosejaw' robbery, police chase

Grosse Pointe and Detroit police arrest three men Friday afternoon after being lead on a foot chase through the streets of Detroit.

Police were initially called to the Moosejaw store on Kercheval Street to respond to a robbery report. A witness caught the license plate number for the car the suspects drove away in, and gave the number to police.

Police then used a GPS from a rental car company to locate the vehicle which was driving on Harper. Police then stopped the vehicle by driving in front of it. Three males were in the vehicle.

Officers were in the process of taking the second male into custody when the third suspect drove the vehicle forward and brushed an officer. A fellow officer then fired shots into the car.

The third suspect then got out of the car and ran away, but was later found hiding in a dumpster. He was not injured by any of the shots fired, and no officers were injured during the chase.

Police believe the three suspects are also connected to a robbery at an AT&T store in Lathrup Village.
