2 teens killed in eastern Ga. crash

Posted: Updated:

APPLING, Ga. (AP) - Authorities in eastern Georgia say two teens have been killed in a truck crash.

Columbia County Sheriff's Capt. Steve Morris told the Augusta Chronicle 18-year-old Chance Lonergan and 17-year-old Madison Scottland Gandy were killed when they were ejected from a truck Sunday morning in Appling, about 20 miles west of Augusta.

Investigators say Lonergan died on the scene and Gandy was later pronounced dead at the Georgia Regents Medical Center.

Information on the cause of the crash wasn't immediately available and officials say autopsies for both teens are scheduled for Tuesday.
