Wilmington Detectives Need Help IDing Suspect

Posted: Updated:
WILMINGTON, Del. -

Detectives are asking the public for help identifying a woman who is involved in a check fraud scheme.

According to Delaware Police, they are investigating a check fraud group that has been operating in Delaware and other states. According to investigators, in February and March of this year, an unidentified woman deposited over fifteen forged checks into a checking account. Some of the purportedly deposited money was then withdrawn from the account before the fraud was discovered, say authorities.

The unidentified woman was captured on surveillance, and three photos are attached. She's deposited checks at banks in Wilmington, Newark, Hockessin, and Bear. When making the deposits she drove a late model maroon or burgundy Ford SUV, detectives say.

Anyone with any information about this suspect's identity are asked to contact the Troop 2 Financial Crimes Unit at 302-834-2630 extension 221, or by calling Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333, via the Internet at www.tipsubmit.com

    NICE EASTER WEEKEND

The first half of the holiday weekend has been great and Easter Sunday looks just as nice. Clouds thin out late tonight with temperatures falling back to the 40s.

Initially it'll be jacket weather early Sunday morning but plenty of sunshine will warm us into the 60s by afternoon.  High temperatures will be a few degrees cooler than Saturday.

It will be noticeably cooler and breezy at the shore with highs in the low 50s.  Quiet conditions continue into Monday.
