One man's shoe is another dog's viral eBay posting

Posted: Updated:

One pet owner had a unique response to his dog eating something around the house.

A rescue pup literally ate a third of one Alexandria man’s dress shoe. But Terrence Nowlin didn’t scold the dog for destroying the pair of Cole Haan wingtips that typically cost around $200.

Nowlin thought it would be cute to post an eBay listing for the chewed shoe as a piece of art by an "emerging canine artist".

Since Nowlin posted the listing on October 6, it went viral. People found the description to be humorous for stating things like, “Some of [the dog’s] earlier performance and mixed-media works include . . . Exposing the Mysterious Innards of a Couch Cushion, Urinating on My Owner's Sister's Bed, Freeing of the Garbage from the Shackles of the Glad Bag.”

Bidding on the chewed shoe is up to $150 and the page received nearly 11,000 views. And his dog Jack is getting some new found attention. The listing made it to a CNN blog and a variety of other sites around the Web.
