2 men wanted in stabbing death of Northwest DC man

WASHINGTON -

Police are searching for two suspects wanted in connection with a fatal stabbing of a D.C. man.

49-year-old Matias Molina died from apparent stab wounds on September 2, whose body was found on the bank of Rock Creek in Grove #6 near Beach Drive and Joyce Road.

Angel Dilmar Monge, also known as Alex Avalos, is wanted for second-degree murder while armed of Molina. He is described as a 40-year-old Hispanic male, 5’ 6”, 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He has a tattoo of a black scorpion on his left forearm.

Jose Santos Cantarero is wanted for accessory after the fact in the stabbing death of Molina. He is described as a 36-year-old Hispanic male, 5’ 10”, 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Both men are considered armed and dangerous.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to not take action, but call the police at (202) 727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.
