Posted: Updated:

The Tacony-Palmyra drawbridge has finally come down after almost six hours of being stuck in the open position.

An official told FOX 29 that the bridge was inspected, and by noon it had reopened to traffic.

FOX 29's Kacie McDonnell reported on "Good Day Philadelphia" around 4:40 a.m. that the bridge had become stuck in the upright position. It was not waiting for a ship to pass through.

The bridge was closed in both directions after becoming stuck. Traffic was diverted or turned around as it approached the bridge.

Your alternate routes were the Burlington-Bristol or Betsy Ross bridges.
