NYPD Detective Arrested For Alleged Part In Biker Beating

Posted: Updated:

An under-cover NYPD detective turns himself in for allegedly taking part in this biker melee. He was allegedly caught on camera punching the back window of a SUV last month.

Police say that the detective was off-duty at the time.

"We want to continue the investigation with internal affairs. Will continue to do so," said Raymond Kelly, the NYPD Police Commissioner.

The undercover officer was charged with riot, and criminal mischief, and he could face four to seven years behind bars.

This latest development was all sparked from an accident last month, where the SUV driver allegedly ran over a biker, sparking the attack. So far, police have arrested six people. The bikers claim the driver of the SUV Started all this, when he allegedly ran over another man on a motorcycle.

Attorney Heather Hansen was on Good Day to talk about the legal aspects of this case.

Watch the full segment with her analysis of the different charges that will likely be brought on the different people involved. What was the frame of mind? What would happen to the driver? What about any civil case that will happen after the criminal case?
