Two Little Girls Get Ticketed For Barbie Jeep Violation

Posted: Updated:

Two little girls in north-central Utah learn a lesson about obeying the rules of the road. After driving around in their pink Barbie Jeep, they leave it parked on the street, blocking a driveway. Later they found themselves with a citation for an abandoned vehicle.

The girls are just seven and nine years old. They insist that while they were the ones driving the Jeep, they parked it on the sidewalk and don't know how it ended up on the street.

"I think I left it on the sidewalk," recalled the younger daughter.

"How did you leave it on the sidewalk?" her sister replied.

Turns out that an officer noticed the flashy Barbie Jeep was empty, and he was worried that the tiny car could cause an accident, so he moved it into the driveway.

"If it was blocking a driveway, normally we would tow it away," said police.

When the girls' father tried to leave for work he almost backed over the little Jeep. That's when he noticed that there was an abandoned vehicle tag on it. He proceeded to track down the drivers.

However, the Barbie Jeep was not impounded, and there was no fine. Police decided to let the girls off with just a warning. The girls' dad says that he's gotten a lot of tickets throughout his life; however, this one was his favorite.
