Young girl forced to hold sign saying she stole, lied

Posted: Updated:

A young girl was forced to hold a sign saying she stole and lied to friends and family along a busy Sacramento intersection.

“Humiliation. That’s the first thing that came to my mind,” said Judy Moreno, who spotted the girl with the sign. She took a picture of the girl holding the bright green poster board.

Moreno said the girl told her she had taken a dog from a friend’s family. A woman with the girl identified herself as her sister and legal guardian.

“As a parent myself, there’s many different ways to do that,” continued Moreno. “You don’t have to humiliate them.”

It is estimated that hundreds of motorists pass the intersection each day.
