PASADENA, Md. -
A Maryland State Trooper has been seriously injured during a traffic stop in Anne Arundel County after she was struck by a car. State police say Trooper Jacqueline Kline sustained head injuries, a broken arm, cuts and contusions early Sunday. She was in serious condition at the University of Maryland's Shock Trauma Center. Police say Kline arrived on the scene on Route 100 near Catherine Avenue about 1 a.m. to back up another trooper who was conducting a sobriety test. Kline was walking on the shoulder toward the scene when she was hit by a car and was thrown against the back of a police cruiser. The driver of the car is identified as 21-year-old Enrique Guzman of Pasadena. He passed a sobriety test and hasn't been charged.
