Immigration rally held at Ga. Capitol

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

Hundreds of protestors turned out Saturday for a rally and march at the Georgia State Capitol.  They wanted to show their support for immigration reform, and their call for action is part of a larger national effort.

The immigrant community came out in force, with hundreds chanting in Spanish outside the Capitol building.  They held signs and their children as they denounced the country's immigration laws.  The theme of their effort: family.

The marching and chanting for change were part of the nationally-coordinated effort called The National Day of Dignity and Respect.  Rallies were also held at more than 150 other sites in 40 states Saturday.
