The Falcons will host the New York Jets at the Georgia Dome on Monday night, but another team will also be hard at work during the game.  The dome's culinary team will be busy making sure fans stay satisfied, and you might be surprised at what they create.

Executive Chef Charles Walker says everything is made right there at the Georgia Dome—from scratch.  His team is in charge of feeding thousands of fans every game day.

"We can't treat this as a mass feeding," Walker explained.  "This is about every single individual meal and every single individual plate."

Just like any good coach, Walker starts preparing in the off season.

"It's something we work on throughout the year," he said.  "We solicit feedback from our guests, we have advisory boards, and we really just get creative."

This year, creative means having a Burger of the Game.  On Monday night, it's a Jets-inspired pastrami burger.  You'll also be in awe of the 4th and inches sandwich, which is so big it could probably feed an entire offensive line.

"I've got mortadella, ham, salami, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, red wine vinaigrette, nine pounds of meat piled up on this huge sandwich," Walker said.

Walker's team starts working on the menu four days before each game day.  His team, by the way, is massive.

"On game day, we're about 60 strong on the culinary side," adding that it takes about 1,000 people to make it all work, including running all the stands where their creations are sold.

With so much on the menu in 2013, Walker says that no matter what happens on the field, it's the fans who will really taste victory.  And every now and then, Walker admits he may get in a taste or two, too.

Walker says each season's menu is really influenced by the fans.  He says it was the fans who called for a healthier option, and there's also a gluten-free area that caters to people who want it.
