TINLEY PARK, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A search of a Tinley Park retention pond Friday night ended with all victims safe and accounted for, police Chief Steve Neubauer said.

Authorities from throughout the south suburbs responded to the pond at 175th and 88th Ave., after there were reports of multiple people in the water, said Pat Carr, Tinley Park's director of emergency management and 911 communications.

Authorities rescued two males from the pond initially, and then launched a search of the pond for a possible third person. That person was found just before 10:30 p.m. Friday night, the Southtown Star reports.

All three were male juveniles, Neubauer said, declining further comment.

Carr said that two males were rescued and were taken to the hospital.

"They were conscious and breathing," Carr said.

Multiple agencies and dive teams were there and working on the search

Mohamed Alqadhi, 49, whose home backs up to the pond said he heard what he believed to be teenage boys screaming and swearing in the water. He said his neighbor helped one out of the water before police arrived.

When police arrived, Alqadhi said, he loaned them an inflatable raft. Alqadhi said he thought he saw two others in the water and that they were being uncooperative with police.

Authorities from throughout the area were on the scene, including East Hazel Crest, Dolton, Palos Fire Protection District and Orland Fire Protection District.
