Car lands on porch of Phoenix home

Updated:
PHOENIX -

A car plowed into a house near Loop 101 and 35th Avenue on Friday morning.

Phoenix Police say a driver in his 50s lost control and crashed into the front of a home.

The homeowner says he heard a loud crash, ran to the front door and saw a car had collided with a pillar in the front part of his home.

"He's still in his car, he looks really shaken.. I just asked him if he was ok," says homeowner Joseph McClellan.

McClellan tells us the damage is worse on the outside than on the inside.

The driver, Royal Smith, says he drove up on the front lawn because somebody cut him off. He was ticketed for failing to control his speed, but says he wasn't going more than 25 miles an hour.
