Metra trains running again after suspicious package scare in Lake Forest

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (Sun-Times media Wire) -

Metra Union Pacific/North Line trains are on the move again after a suspicious package near north suburban Lake Forest halted service Friday morning.

The suspicious package was discovered about 9:30 a.m. near the Lake Forest station, 691 N. Western Ave., according to Metra.

The suspicious package was cleared and trains started running again a few minutes after 11 a.m., Metra spokesman Tom Miller said.

Trains were delayed up to 95 minutes as a result of the investigation, according to Metra.

Miller could not immediately provide details on the nature of the package.
