Police: Driver Struck Bike Officer On Purpose, Took Off

PHILADELPHIA -

A wild hit-and-run crash landed a Philadelphia bike officer in the hospital Friday night, police said.

SkyFOX was over Ninth Street and Erie Avenue in North Philly around 8:30 p.m.

Investigators claim a driver intentionally struck the bike officer and tried to take off.

Witnesses saw the vehicle careen into a nearby building.

The officer is expected to be OK.

The driver is in custody.
