Man charged with driving super drunk after police chase

Posted: Updated:
SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -

34-year-old Russell Agan of Waterford was arrested in Pontiac and charged with driving super drunk. The suspect fled police in his vehicle after they tried to stop him.

He crashed a few minutes later into a parked car at an apartment complex on Telegraph. Police say Agan then left his vehicle and ran on foot but was caught and arrested after a short chase.

Agan was taken to McLaren Oakland where he was admitted after his blood alcohol content (BAC) was recorded at .355 - more than 4 times the legal limit.

Michigan law states than anyone with a BAC over .17 is considered super drunk. The sentences and fines for super drunk drivers can be double that of traditional OUI cases.
