Amber Alert Issued In Delaware For Possible Child Abduction

NEWARK, Del. -

The New Castle County Police Department is investigating a possible abduction of a juvenile, described as a white female between the ages of 10 and 12.

The incident happened on Tuesday. At 6:30 p.m., the young girl was last seen on Albion Drive near Elliott Street in the community of Whispering Pines Townhomes in Newark, Del.

Witnesses said that the girl was abducted while walking and pulled into an older, white SUV with tinted windows.

The suspect is described as a man approximately 30 years of age. The suspect vehicle was last seen making a right onto Old Newark Road.

FOX 29's Steve Keeley reported early Wednesday morning that Delaware State Police have knocked on doors in the neighborhood but have yet to receive any reports of a missing child. The possible abduction continues to be investigated.
