Pedestrian struck by train in Hyattsville

A pedestrian has died after being struck by a train in Hyattsville.

A man was pronounced dead at the scene near Baltimore Avenue and Decatur Street, according to Hyattsville police.

Police say a man was walking on the tracks while the train was approaching. The conductor of the train sounded a horn to warn the pedestrian, but he did not move and was struck.

Passengers were on the train, but no one was injured.

MARC service on the Camden Line was affected and caused delays and cancellations Monday evening.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
