It can ruin a trip before it even starts. So do you have an idea how to make airport security better? Make the lines faster? If you do, it could earn you part of $15,000.

PHOENIX -

A Chandler family is going to Disneyworld. It was the one thing their 8-year-old wished for when he started his battle with leukemia.

Trevor has been looking forward to this trip for five years now. His parents found out he had leukemia in 2008, and today, the family boarded a plane headed for the happiest place on earth.

This bubbly little guy has been through a lot.

"It's been a long three and a half years with his treatments, this is a real blessing."

Trevor was diagnosed with leukemia when he was just three years old. He's endured three and a half years of chemotherapy. Now he's cancer free, a shooting star and maybe future firefighter.

The Phoenix Fire department was impressed. Firefighters brought an engine to the airport, just for Trevor.

"To see the joy on Trevor's face for all the times he's been sick, now he's healthy and we're happy to give him a great treat for that," says Dawn Bird.

And not just a treat for him, but for his sisters too.

"A lot of times it gets lost on just the child that's going for treatment, but the sisters pushed from home to home, family to family, it's a lot of scheduling difficulties on them too," says father David Bird.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation and American Airlines sent the whole family on a well-deserved vacation.

Trevor made the wish 5 years ago. His parents decided to hold off on the trip until their son got better.

They got their wish. Trevor is officially a cancer survivor. Now, Mickey and Minnie will help make Trevor's wish come true.

"Just glad that Trevor has been getting healthier and healthier and getting to be like a kid," says Dawn Bird.

This will be the first time the bird family has ever been to Disneyworld.

Trevor's parents say they're so grateful for the opportunity -- not just to go to Disneyworld -- but to go there with three healthy kids.
