Cardinals fans make first home game a sellout

GLENDALE, Ariz. -

Before the big game, a big party. Fans gathered to tailgate outside the stadium. We joined the crowds to find out how the fans prepared for today's game and their hopes for the season.

A sea of red and white gathered outside the University of Phoenix Stadium to cheer on their favorite NFL team. The game was a sellout, and the tailgating beforehand was also a huge success.

Pre-game partying also took place at Westgate. Festivities included live music, food, drinks, meet and greets with Cardinals cheerleaders, and other fan-friendly fun.

Some Cardinals fans even set up a TV so they could watch the game!

For their first home game, the Cardinals faced off against the Detroit Lions.

After last week's loss, fans we spoke to today were optimistic the Cardinals would bring home a win.

However, many of the Cardinals fans we spoke to said it didn't really matter if the team won or lost -- it was all about the experience. By the way, Cardinals won, 25-21.
