Victim critically injured during bar shootout

PHOENIX -

One person was critically injured in a shooting early Saturday morning near 51st Avenue and Indian School Road at the Purple Turtle Bar.

According to police,the 34-year-old male victim and two friends got into an altercation with a group of individuals after they refused to leave the bar when asked to do so.  As the situation escalated and moved outside, the victim was shot.

According to authorities, witnesses described this as a shoot-out between two motorcycle gangs.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim -- shot in the chest.

The shooting suspect is described as a tall white male with a heavy build, a shaved head or short blonde hair and was wearing blue jeans and a black sleeveless vest.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
