Police standoff situation ends in Rogers Park

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A standoff with police at a North Side apartment building ended Friday afternoon.

Officers successfully negotiated with a man barricaded in an apartment building in the 1200 block of West Morse Avenue with another person, police said.

The man was removed from the building and taken to Saint Francis Hospital for a mental evaluation, police said. The person inside the building with him was unharmed.

Five SWAT team members went into the building and two came out carrying two infants. Police said no children were involved or injured in the incident.
