Supercharge your brain with this guacamole recipe

Get this recipe courtesy of Bethany Perry. She stresses that homemade guacamole is the key to children's brain health, not the kind you buy in a store.

She says that fresh guacamole should be eaten for breakfast at least three times a week. You can meet Perry and get free seminars at the Better Health Market on Sept. 14 at 11 a.m. in Southgate (17825 Eureka Road) and at 2 p.m. at the Better Health Market in Novi (42875 Grand River).

Guacamole:
2-3 avocados- peeled, pitted and smashed
1 lime, juiced (can also use 2 TBSP of orange juice for another taste)
1 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 cup red onion (or sweet onion for milder taste)
3 TBSP chopped fresh cilantro
1-2 tomatoes, diced & seeded
1 teaspoon - 1 TBSP minced garlic (to taste)
1  pinch red pepper flakes (optional)
