Remembering 9/11

Posted: Updated:

Today marks the solemn 12th anniversary of the worst terrorist attack our nation has ever faced.

In New York City, bells toll, followed by silence, marking the exact moments when hijacked planes hit each of the twin towers, and when each of the towers fell.

At the White House, the president and Mrs. Obama, along with Vice President Joe Biden, joined together on the south lawn to remember the lives lost on this day 12 years ago.

Across our country, Americans remembered and reflected on this September 11th. They honored the lives lost in New York City, at The Pentagon, and in a field in Western Pennsylvania.

18 Bucks County residents lost their lives on September 11th, 2001. Today, they were remembered in Lower Makefield Township.

A special memorial service took place this morning at the Garden of Reflection.

It provided friends and family members of the victims, as well as ordinary Americans, the opportunity to pay their respects to the men and women who died 12 years ago.
