ALEXANDRIA, Va. -

Local and federal officials say a six-alarm blaze in an Alexandria warehouse that injured four firefighters was incendiary in nature.

Investigators with the Alexandria Fire Department and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives announced the finding on Monday. Officials say a person of interest has been identified in the Sept. 2 fire at the three-story building along South Pickett Street.

Three Fairfax County firefighters and one Alexandria firefighter were taken to area hospitals with minor injuries while battling the fire, which caused an estimated $6 million in damage.

The case has been forwarded to the Commonwealth's Attorney.
