WASHINGTON -

After nearly 14 years at FOX 5, Brian Bolter will be leaving the anchor desk.

Bolter is writing a new chapter in his life to pursue other interests, which include a wine bar in Annapolis and the opening of a nearby second restaurant later this year.

Bolter’s last day will be Thursday.

Bolter, a two-time Emmy award winner, joined FOX 5 in November of 1999. He has been the co-anchor on the FOX 5 News at 10 for over a decade and also hosts the FOX 5 NewsEdge at 6 and 11.

“It’s been an honor and a privilege presenting the work of some of the most talented in the business here at FOX 5 to you here in the Washington, DC region,” said Bolter in Monday’s broadcast on the FOX 5 News at 10. “Most importantly, though, I want to thank all the loyal viewers out there who have allowed me into their homes for more than a decade. You have blessed me with your smiles and your handshakes in the streets and trust in your hearts. I will forever cherish your faith in me.”
