Atlanta's VA adds medical care center to south side

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

The Atlanta VA Medical Center expects to see about 90,000 veterans seeking medical care in 2013. Now, veterans will have another option for care on the south side of town.

Good Day's Tacoma Perry has exciting details on the expansion of the Atlanta VA Medical Center. We have these four buildings, as well.

With U.S. soldiers returning home by the thousands, it's an expansion that couldn't come at a better time. The Clairmont Campus of the Atlanta VA Medical Center is one of the fastest growing in the nation.

VA officials found that needed space in a familiar place - Fort McPherson in East Point. Al Rosado is the new site's administrator.

"Our main facility -- about 75,000 square feet -- will have services for mental health on the second floor."
