Storm-damaged Starland Ballroom reopens with Stone Temple Pilots

NEW JERSEY (MYFOXNY.COM) -

Everyone from Bruce Springsteen to Justin Timberlake has played at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, N.J. Now nearly a year after Superstorm Sandy hit, the ballroom is back.

Sandy's storm surge flooded the venue. The stage was surrounded not by crowds but by 6 feet of water.

On Friday, Filter and Stone Temple Pilots played at the ballroom. Two members of STP are from New Jersey. Linkin Park's Chester Bennington fronted the group.

The owners said it takes more than 6 feet of water to silence this place. They are back to doing what they love: putting on a rock n' roll show.
