Kelly Rowland: Yes, I'm A Workaholic

Posted: Updated:

Working on "The X Factor" means having to put up with Simon Cowell and the barbs he tosses in the direction of the three female judges joining him on the panel this season:  Demi Lovato, Paulina Rubio, and the Grammy Award-winning artist, Kelly Rowland.

And that means sticking together and giving it right back to Simon.

"Oh, we don't play on that panel," Kelly told Steve Edwards and Maria Sansone on Good Day L.A. "If Simon picks on one of us, he has to deal with all of us.  We give him h-e-double-hockeysticks."

But the onscreen taunts by Simon hide the respect he has for Kelly, and his wish to have her working with him on "The X Factor," first in Great Britain and now, here in the U.S.

"Simon asked me to be a part of the panel over there, and I had a really great time.  And the U.K. showed so much love and had so much talent," Kelly said.  "And when he asked me to do the U.S., I was more than thrilled."

Fun Facts About Kelly Rowland:

  • Rowland rose to fame as a founding member of Destiny's Child, who have sold 60 million records worldwide, making them one of the world's best-selling girl groups.
  • As of November 2012, Rowland, as a solo artist, has sold over 24 million records worldwide. Her work has earned her several achievements, including a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame with Destiny's Child, four Grammy Awards, a Billboard Music Award, and a Soul Train Music Award.
  • Apart from her work in music, Rowland has also launched a career in film and television. In 2002, she made her acting debut with guest appearances on sitcom series The Hughleys and Taina, prior to appearing in various films, including Freddy vs. Jason (2003), The Seat Filler (2004) and Think Like a Man (2012).
