The crisis in Syria has prompted security concerns in the nation's capital.

The U.S. Park Police and D.C. Police are watching for suspicious activity.

They're boosting surveillance near potential targets like embassies, monuments and government buildings.

Officers are also on stand by, ready to control impromptu demonstrations and rallies near the white house.

However, D.C. officials stress, there are no imminent threats.
