Hackers look for weaknesses in car electronics

Posted: Updated:
WASHINGTON, DC -

Security experts working as hackers found weaknesses in car computer systems. The Associated Press revealed some of the findings and made it clear the "hackers" were actually well intended computer security experts and used federal grant money to expose the vulnerability of some car computers.

The report says it took the experts months to break into systems and there are no known cases of a hacker remotely taking over a car. The AAA Mid-Atlantic weighs in on the research.
