Lamar Odom Busted For DUI On Freeway

Posted: Updated:
Van Nuys, CA -

(FOX 11 / CNS) Former L.A. Clipper and L.A. Laker Lamar Odom was arrested early this morning after his SUV was seen weaving on the eastbound Ventura (101) Freeway and he failed a field sobriety test, the California Highway Patrol reported.

Odom was pulled over just as he exited the Coldwater Canyon exit off the Ventura (101) Freeway in Studio City just before 4 a.m., according to the CHP. A CHP's arrest report says the 33-year-old Odom was driving his white Mercedes SUV in a "serpentine manner at 50 miles per hour.'' A CHP officer conducted a traffic stop when Odom exited the freeway.

Odom showed "objective signs of intoxication and was unable to perform field sobriety tests as explained and demonstrated,'' the report stated.

Odom was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and was transported to the jail at the Los Angeles Police Department's Van Nuys station. The basketball star refused all chemical tests, according to the report.

His bail was set at $15,000 and as of 8:30 a.m. Odom had yet to be released, according to L.A. County jail records.

Odom's arrest comes amid a spate of news stories about his alleged drug use and troubles in his marrage to Khloe Kardashian.

Lamar Odom arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.

CHP officers say they spotted a white Mercedez around 3:25 this morning  on the 101. It was going about 50 miles per hour and weaving in and out of lanes.

Officers turned on their lights but Odom did not pull over immediately. Eventually, he pulled over at the 101 and Coldwater Canyon.

Officers suspected  he was intoxicated. They tried to perform a field sobriety test but when Odom was unable to perform it adequately,  CHP arrested him at 3:54 this morning. He was taken to Van Nuys jail just a little after 5am.  At the jail, Odom refused to take a breath and blood test.  He was booked without incident and LAPD says he was released at around 8:30 without posting bail.  He left on his own.

Clippers owner Donald Sterling repeatedly consented to his wife selling the Clippers while facing the prospect of being stripped of the team by the NBA, then suddenly changed his mind and disregarded the terms of the family trust, Shelly Sterling's attorney told a judge today.
Shelly Sterling acted properly in removing her husband as a director of the family trust that owns the Los Angeles Clippers, and she has the authority to sell the team despite Donald Sterling's objections, a judge tentatively ruled on Monday.
