Person of interest sought in College Park student assault

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -

Prince George’s County police are looking to identify a person of interest sought for questioning in connection with an assault of a University of Maryland student.

Police have released surveillance video of the person of interest -- a man who was seen walking on a sidewalk on College Avenue and Dickerson Avenue in College Park Saturday.

Police say a male student was cut with a sharp object at around 1:30 a.m. Saturday in the 4600 block of College Avenue.

According to investigators, the victim and suspect got into an argument after encountering each other on the street. The argument then turned into a physical confrontation.

The suspect ran away after cutting the victim.

The suspect is described as a white male with a slim build and blond hair. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and blue jeans.
