DETROIT (WJBK) -

Detroit police say several people were briefly taken hostage during a home invasion on the city's southwest side before a standoff with suspects.

Police say three men burst into the home on Central Ave. early Tuesday, taking a man, a woman and one or two children hostage.

The hostages were able to escape. The man, who police say was struck during the attack, was taken to a hospital for treatment.

"We believe it was a targeted home invasion," said Detroit Police Chief James Craig.

Police say two people were taken into custody before 7 a.m. FOX 2's Roop Raj reports a third came out peacefully just before 10 a.m.

The suspect's ages and denies were not immediately released.
