Girl Escapes Attempted Kidnapping By Biting Suspect

"He put his hand on her mouth, grabbed her and tried to abduct her into a car," said Christina Darnell. She's describing the heart stopping moments captured by a neighbor's home surveillance camera. Her 8 year old daughter is seen in the video after she says a man tried to kidnap her.

"She turned around and she bit down on the man's hand. Then she kicked him and when she broke free she ran into the neighbor's side door." Christina and husband Gary say their eight year old daughter and six year old son were playing in a neighbor's backyard on West Bridge Street Monday afternoon. They were in the alleyway when the girl tells police a man in a light colored newer model Sedan got out and grabbed her.

It's hard to see the altercation in the video but what you can clearly see is the six year old come running into the neighbor's yard followed by the girl. Eventually, you see who police believe is the suspect, drive off in the distance.

"She was distraught, she didn't want to talk and she didn't want to see nobody," said Christina. Gary says the past few days have been traumatic for his little girl who is staying with a relative to get away from the neighborhood for a few days.

Gary says, "She has nightmares right now."

Police admit the video quality is too bad to make out the car but it's something to go on that could help bring this dangerous suspect in.

"He's a sick person. This is a heavily traveled area where it happened and people who live on that street park back there. There's always people around. He was very brazen," said Patrolman John Aspromonti with Morrisville Police.

The little girls' parents are glad she's ok but fear for other kids in the neighborhood. They're happy that what they taught their daughter about strangers stuck with her.

"She is a very brave little girl. She listened to me and I'm very proud of her. She listened to everything I told her to do," said Christina.
