CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Calling all animal lovers, well-wishers and all-around awesome Lincoln Park Zoo visitors: Nayembi is back in action!

The baby gorilla suffered severe cut to her face in February. But after reconstructive surgery and some time off, Nayembi was reintroduced to crowds at the Chicago zoo on Thursday.

This is the next step in 9-month-old's rehabilitation process. She was reunited with her mother, Rollie, last month and with her father, Kwan, on Wednesday. She also got to spend time with the other Lincoln Park gorillas, including another baby gorilla named Patty, who is only one month older than Nayembi.

When the baby gorilla suffered the severe injury last winter, she was rushed into emergency surgery and was kept under constant care. The cause of her injury was never determined, since the incident was not caught on camera and no one saw it happen.

You can visit Nayembi at the Lincoln Park Zoo's Regenstein Center for African Apes starting at 1 p.m. Thursday. That exhibit it located at Cannon Drive and Fullerton Parkway.
