Redskins WR Pierre Garcon surprises local high schools with new football uniforms

Posted: Updated:
WASHINGTON, DC -

The Redskins top receiver, Pierre Garcon, was talking football Tuesday, but not in the place you might expect. Garcon visited D.C.'s Roosevelt High School to deliver new uniforms donated by Russell Athletic.

"It is pretty cool to be back in a high school gym. You forget how it really is. Seeing the kids, seeing the bleachers, being in the atmosphere is a great feeling," says Garcon.

The kids were grinning as they checked out the new Rough Riders jerseys.

"I love the new look. It makes me feel better mentally and I feel like I can do a better job physically," says quarterback Maurice Morris.

Garcon advised the kids to do more than just go through the motions. He urged them to seize every opportunity. He even agreed to attend a Roosevelt game this fall.

Russell also donated uniforms to Thomas Jefferson High School in Alexandria, Va., and Springbrook High School in Silver Spring, Md.
