WASHINGTON -

The Washington Humane Society is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction for a shooting that wounded a dog in Northeast D.C in July.

WHS said the adult brindle and white pit bull type dog, named Buster, was found July 23 near the 300 block of 54th Street, NE. Officials said Buster was shot four times in the face and chest before being found over 15 hours later in an alley nearby where he lived.

Due to the severity of the gunshot wounds and the significant loss of blood, Buster had to be euthanized.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact WHS’s law enforcement department at 202-723-5730.
