WASHINGTON -

Two members of a Takoma Park-area gang have pleaded guilty and an associate has been convicted on 10 counts, including witness intimidation, in connection with an armed robbery on January 1, 2013 near the Takoma Park Metro station.

Daquan Lee Tyler, 20, of Silver Spring, has been convicted of robbery with a dangerous weapon, use of a handgun and other charges, including solicitation of witness intimidation. His partners in crime, Joshua Baylor, 20, and Kyree Jordan, 19, have both pleaded guilty in the armed robbery.

The victim, who only wants to be identified as “David,” says he and two male friends were walking along Cedar Street, NW at around 11:30 p.m. when two guys came up behind them and told them to get down on the ground.

"They started asking us, ‘Where's the money?’ and patting our pockets," he said.

David was having trouble finding his wallet when one of them put a gun to his head.

Police arrested Baylor in February when his physical description matched surveillance video at a 7-Eleven where police said he had used one of the victim's credit cards to make some purchases. Montgomery County prosecutors say Baylor told police he was the lookout and Tyler and Jordan had the guns.

Police found the weapons and other incriminating evidence, including a tape-recorded jailhouse phone call between Tyler and an unidentified friend. In the call, he is trying to get Jordan to stop Baylor from testifying against him in court.

Police also seized court charging documents that Tyler had written a message on, instructing Jordan to block Baylor from testifying.

Tyler faces up to 75 years in prison when he is sentenced later this month.

Police say Jordan and Baylor are both members of the Maple Avenue Crew, a Takoma Park gang.

Jordan has already been sentenced to 15 years, with all but five suspended.

Baylor will be sentenced in September.
