Video shows Florida resort collapse into sinkhole

Posted: Updated:
(WJBK) -

New footage shows a sinkhole destroying a section of a central Florida resort earlier this week.

Darren Gade captured the images and says he could hearing cracking noises before the three-story structure at the Summer Bay Resort, collapsed around 3 a.m. Monday.

Geotechnical engineers have been drilling the area, about 10 miles west of Disney World, to see if the land has stabilized.

No one was hurt and fire officials believe the 100-foot hole has grown deeper.

The sinkhole comes five months after one elsewhere in Florida killed a man.

Monday's sinkhole, which is in the middle of the villa, is about 40 to 50 feet in diameter.
