It's time to enlist the help of some free technology to make the transition back to school a smooth one this year.

KDFW Consumer Reporter Steve Noviello shares the apps designed to assist with everything from planning to homework & even suggestions for mealtime.

Cozi Family Organizer
Use it to set up homework, after school and appointment reminders.

Evernote
Evernote will allow you to record voice notes on the go and enter items manually. The whole family will have access to your ever growing to-do list which sill keep everyone in sync.

School A to Z (iPhone only)

Helps you answer your student's head-scratching homework questions and also gives product suggestions to enhance learning on a variety of topics.

OverDrive Media Console

Expand your learning resources with the OverDrive Media Console which allows you to "borrow" e-books from a selection of public and school libraries without ever having to leave your home. So when you kid tells you the night before a book report is due they haven't even selected a book yet, now their poor planning doesn't mean you have to squeeze a ride to the library into your hectic schedule.

Dinner Spinner
Too much homework and no time to cook? Dinner Spinner offers more than 40,000 options for lunch and dinner.
