Sorry Folks, The Holiday Travel Sales Are Over

Posted: Updated:
Jason Couvillion with Bruvion Travel was on Good Day LA Tuesday morning with some great travel tips:

WHEN SHOULD TRAVELERS BOOK A FLIGHT:
Jason says a lot of people believe if they book flights on a Tuesday, Wednesday or during the middle of the night, that's the better deal. But that is not the case nowadays. It's more about waiting for the airlines to make big announcements.  For example, American Airlines will be opening some new routes in the next couple weeks, and as soon as that happens they will put their fares on sale. Other airlines will follow their lead.  Watch the news for big announcements, and the fare specials will follow.

TRAVELING ON A WEDNESDAY IS THE BEST WAY TO GET A DEAL:
Wednesdays are good days to travel because most people travel Friday or Saturday to get the most out of the weekend. The flights are not as full in the middle of the week, and that's when you get the better fares.  Hotels are also less expensive on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

SORRY FOLKS, THE HOLIDAY SALES ARE OVER:
The holidays are only 4 months away, and yet the holiday sales are already over.  These days, the airlines know they'll fill their planes during the holidays, and they've all cut back on their schedules and don't have as many flights. So, they don't need to have a sale in November for flights in December. If you know you're going to be traveling during the holidays, buy your tickets now.

END OF SUMMER TRAVEL SUGGESTIONS:
Tickets to Mammoth Lakes is a great deal right now with fly fishing and family adventures, and you can save by staying in condos.  Also, Pismo Beach is one of the only places in California where you can drive right up to the beach. They also have ATV and dune buggy rentals, which is fun for the family.
