Montgomery County schools are trying to identify students who are not likely to graduate high school.
A new study from the school system shows students could show signs of becoming dropouts as early as the first-grade.
It found that students were five-times as likely to drop out if they were suspended once in first grade.
The Washington Post is reporting that officials hope to use the study as a road-map to lower drop-out rates and improve academic achievement.
