Report: Former DC mayor Adrian Fenty dating widow of Steve Jobs

WASHINGTON -

It's the talk of D.C. It is the apparent romantic relationship between former Mayor Adrian Fenty and Laurene Powell Jobs, the widow of the Steve Jobs.

The Washington Post first reported this story and apparently this relationship has been getting stronger for about eight months now.

How did they get together? The love of education may have sparked the new love.

“What we do know is that they were apparently formally introduced in 2011 at an education conference in Houston,” said Roxanne Roberts, who writes for The Reliable Source blog for the Washington Post. “They both are really passionate about education.”

Robert broke this story and knew it would get widespread attention because of the people involved.

“It's this very unlikely bi-coastal hookup and I think people are very intrigued because it's not a natural fit immediate on the surface of it, but maybe they are just perfect together,” she said.

Fenty has been out of the spotlight for some time. He recently took a big job with an investment firm on the west coast.

When it comes to his personal life, it has been reported that Fenty and former first lady of D.C., Michelle Fenty, are separated and in the process of getting a divorce.

“There’s no indication that this new relationship was part of the failure of Fenty’s marriage,” said Roberts.

When Steve Jobs passed away about two years ago, he left behind a fortune. His widow, Laurene, is said to be worth about $10 billion, making her one of the richest people in America.

She is known as a private person, and because of Fenty's pending divorce, this may be why few people know about their relationship.

Jobs spends much of her time and money helping various organizations in need.

We tried to reach out to former mayor Fenty by phone and email, but were unable to speak to him about this.
